The Business Information Systems Analyst II supports the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Epic applications and associated systems that support key revenue cycle and patient access functions across Bronson Healthcare Group.
This role works independently to analyze workflows, support system configuration, troubleshoot issues, and implement system enhancements. The Analyst collaborates with operational leaders, IT teams, and vendor partners to ensure applications meet the organization’s business and clinical needs.
Primary application focus includes Epic Cadence and Referral workflows, with potential involvement in other Epic modules related to Patient Access, Patient Accounting, Registration, and Health Information Management.
Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
Required
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 2 years of progressive experience in information systems
Preferred
Experience with at least one Epic module such as:
Cadence
Prelude
Resolute
HIM modules
Certification
Epic Application Certification (Cadence, Prelude, Resolute, etc.) required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Support Epic applications through system configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and upgrades
Analyze system functionality and recommend enhancements to improve workflows and efficiency
Maintain system integrity and ensure applications meet operational needs
Participate in Epic release reviews and implement new functionality where appropriate
Analyze existing workflows, business procedures, and system usage to identify improvement opportunities
Collaborate with operational teams to understand business requirements and translate them into system solutions
Investigate end-user needs and develop recommendations to improve processes and system performance
Troubleshoot routine and complex system issues
Work with IT teams and vendor representatives to resolve technical problems
Participate in resolution efforts during system outages or degraded performance
Develop and maintain documentation including:
System specifications
Test scripts
Workflow documentation
User education materials
Assist with training and supporting end users on system functionality and best practices
Maintain regular communication with Epic and third-party vendor representatives
Collaborate with report writers to ensure reporting needs are met
Work with stakeholders to ensure applications align with operational and strategic goals
Participate in planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of business information systems
Evaluate new technologies and system enhancements for potential adoption
Support ongoing optimization and system improvement initiatives
Working knowledge of healthcare administrative workflows including insurance regulations, billing, and reimbursement
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of application design, build, testing, and deployment processes
Familiarity with project management and change control methodologies
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to work with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Position involves significant computer use (approximately 70–90% of the workday)
Requires sustained attention to detail and analytical work
Occasional standing, walking, or lifting of light objects may be required
