Hawkes Learning is seeking a results-driven and strategic Key Accounts Manager to drive growth by collaborating with local representatives to secure and close their top two to five key accounts. This role demands a proactive leader with strong skills in presentations, negotiations, and proposal development, while also contributing to the mentorship, training, and support of the broader sales team. Additionally, the Key Accounts Manager will own 10-12 primary accounts within their local territory, managing opportunities from prospecting to successful adoption.

This role requires up to 50% travel across multiple states in the US during the fall and spring selling seasons to provide in-field support. Regular air travel is expected. During the busiest time of the selling season, (Sept-Nov and Jan-May), you will likely need to spend time working in the evening outside of traditional work hours.

Ideal location for candidates is Texas or Florida, however, we are open to considering qualified Key Accounts Manager candidates across the east coast to central US.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with local reps to develop and execute strategies for closing high-value opportunities.
  • Working closely with local rep, taking ownership of key account presentations, negotiations, and proposals to drive success.
  • Increase revenue at primary accounts by achieving or surpassing sales targets while making strategic and efficient decisions regarding travel and key account management.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new or underperforming sales reps.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and upskilling to strengthen the capabilities of the sales team.
  • Partner with leadership to strategize on rep development and performance improvements.
  • Assist in forecasting efforts and pipeline management to ensure data-driven decision-making.
  • Offer field coaching and real-time support to reps during campus visits.
  • Work closely with leadership to refine sales strategies and execution plans.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience (five or more years preferred) as a field sales representative in higher education courseware sales, with a strong track record of consistently meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Demonstrated success in key account management and sales strategy.
  • Experience in pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and closing large committee adoption deals.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • A mentor and leader who thrives on developing talent and driving team success.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and align with both sales reps and leadership.

If you’re a strategic thinker, high level closer, skilled negotiator, and passionate mentor, we’d love to hear from you! At Hawkes Learning, you will have the opportunity to contribute to innovative educational solutions and make a positive impact on the learning experience. Hawkes Learning also offers an inclusive work environment that thrives on collaboration, creativity, and having a can-do attitude.
